The San Damian Collection

The San Damian Collection is a complete reflection of its designer. Damian Brown is all about personal individuality and jewelry that complements each person's uniqueness. It's no wonder he's so unique; he was raised in a rural area of Washington as well as Merida, Yucatan. Damian's passion is traveling and discovering other cultures and languages. Born on the cusp of Aries and Taurus, he loves the spiritual dichotomy that accompanies this, which is reflected in his designs. Interestingly enough, his middle name is Jasper, like the stone. 

Damian creates jewelry that changes with a person's mood and environment. He says, "In the pursuit of my individuality I defy boundaries." With the constant need to satisfy ever-changing trends in the fashion world, the San Damian Collection defies the "in today, out tomorrow" trends by creating jewelry that stays in. "At this point my designs don't really follow any particular trend nor do they break one."

The San Damian STREET line includes gallery-quality glass fusion pieces that can be combined with a variety of different chokers, necklaces and bracelets to create multiple different unique and fabulous looks to match and complement your unique and fabulous personality! They are created by a complicated fusion process. The borosilicate (a special material composed of molecularly bonded boron and glass) is heated to a point of melting with a direct flame. While the borosilicate is molten, a dichroic metal is inserted and spun into a spiral. A colored borosilicate is melted to the back of the piece and struck out in a hot kiln. Raw dichroic material is more expensive per gram than gold, not unbelievable considering its ability to bend and refract light. The result? The piece is very difficult to break and changes colors as the light hits it from different angles. According to Damian, "Each piece exudes its own one-of-a-kind color and patterns, its own distinctive personality if you will." 

The San Damian Collection also has a COUTURE line consisting of a blend of exotic semiprecious stones mixed with sterling silver. The semiprecious stones are procured from Africa, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Peru and Siberia. The COUTURE line is great for those interested in the metaphysical properties of the stones. A couple of examples from this line include Blue Lace Agate, Lapis Lazuli, Rainbow Moonstone, Banded Malachite and Tiger's Eye.
